Dickon Hinchliffe has recently finished the score for the upcoming thriller The Fields. The movie marks the first major feature directorial effort for Ami Canaan Mann (daughter of Michael Mann who is producing the film). The Fields stars Sam Worthington, Chloe Moretz and Jeffrey Dean Morgan and centers on a series of unsolved murders in industrial wastelands surrounding Gulf Coast refineries, where as many as 70 bodies have turned up over the past two decades. The film, which was originally called Texas Killing Fields is expected to be released later this year.

Also coming up for Hinchliffe is the documentary Project Nim. The film premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and has been picked up by Roadside Attractions (who distributed the Hinchcliffe-scored indie hit and Academy Award-nominated Winter’s Bone). The movie about a historic experiment to try to teach a chimpanzee language while raising the primate like a human child is directed by James Marsh who is best known for his documentary Man on Wire. Project Nim will be released later this year.
