Rolfe Kent has been hired to score the upcoming Universal Pictures drama Charlie St. Cloud. In the movie, Zac Efron plays a young man overcome by grief at the death of his younger brother, who takes a job as caretaker of the cemetery in which he’s buried and actually communicates with the deceased boy every night. The movie co-stars Kim Basinger and Amanda Crews and is directed by Burr Steers. Kent and Steers previously worked together on 17 Again which was released last year. Charlie St. Cloud is scheduled to be released on October 15.
Kent also has the action comedy Killers coming up this summer. In the movie, a vacationing woman meets her ideal man, leading to a swift marriage. Back at home, their idyllic life is upset when they discover their neighbors could be assassins who have been contracted to kill the couple. The movie directed by Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde, 21, Monster-In-Law, The Ugly Truth) stars Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher. Killers will be released on June 4 by Lionsgate.
