The Guild of Music Supervisors announced today that record producer, composer, and songwriter Quincy Jones will be honored with the Icon Award at next year’s 11th Guild of Music Supervisors Awards. The Icon Award was created to celebrate those who have made legendary contributions to the music and film industry. Jones who is the all-time most nominated Grammy artist with a total of 80 Grammy nominations and as received the award 28 times has contributed music to numerous film and TV projects. He won an Emmy Award for his score of the opening episode of Roots, received the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and was honored with seven Oscar nominations throughout his career. Among the previous recipients of the Icon Award are Burt Bacharach, Kenny Loggins and Marc Shaiman.  The 11th Annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards will be hosted as a virtual event on April 11, 2021.
