Joseph Trapanese (Oblivion, Straight Outta Compton, The Greatest Showman, The Raid 2, Lady and the Tramp) has composed the original score for the upcoming Netflix original film Coffee & Kareem. The movie is directed by Michael Dowse (Goon, What If) and stars Ed Helms, Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Little Gardenhigh, Betty Gilpin, RonReaco Lee, Andrew Bachelor and David Alan Grier. The action comedy revolves around a Detroit cop who reluctantly teams with his girlfriend’s 11 year-old son to clear his name and take down the city’s most ruthless criminal. Shane McCarthy wrote the screenplay. Helms is also producing the project with Mike Falbo (The Clapper, Corporate Animals) for their Pacific Electric Pictures production company. Trapanese has previously scored Dowse’s last feature Stuber, which opened in theaters last summer. Coffee & Kareem will premiere on April 3, 2020 exclusively on Netflix.
