Hanan Townshend (Knights of Cup, To the Wonder, The Vessel) has composed the music for the upcoming crime thriller Semper Fi. The film is directed by Henry-Alex Rubin (Disconnect, Murderball) and stars Sam Claflin, Jai Courtney, Nat Wolff, Finn Wittrock and Beau Knapp, Arturo Castro and Leighton Meester. The movie follows a by-the-book police officer who makes ends meet as a Marine Corps reservist whose reckless half-brother accidentally kills a guy in a bar fight and tries to flee. Rubin also co-wrote the screenplay with Sean Mullin (Amira & Sam). David Lancaster (Nightcrawler, Whiplash, Eye in the Sky) and Karina Miller (To the Bone) are producing the Cornerstone Films production. Semper Fi is expected to be released in 2019.
Townshend also has the fantasy drama The Book of Vision directed by Carlo Hintermann and starring Charles Dance, Lotte Verbeek, Sverrir Gudnason,Filippo Nigro and Isolda Dychauk coming up. The movie revolves around a young Italian doctor who, while studying the history of medicine at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland, discovers an 18th-century text about a Prussian doctor which hides a mystery. Gerardo Panichi (Mountain) is producing the project and Terrence Malick (The Thin Red Line, The Tree of Life) serves as an executive producer. A release next year in expected.
