Mark Isham announced on Instagram that he will compose the music for Marvel’s upcoming Freeform original series Cloak & Dagger. The show is created by Joe Pokaski (Underground) based on the Marvel Comic characters by Bill Mantlo & Ed Hannigan and stars Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden, Carl Lundstedt, James Saito and J.D. Evermore. The series follows two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love. Pokaski is also executive producing the Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios production with Jim Chory and Jeph Loeb (Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.). Gina Prince-Bythewood who previously worked with Isham on the features The Secret Life of Bees and Beyond the Lights is directing the first episode. Cloak & Dagger will premiere in 2018 on Freeform.
Isham also continues to score ABC’s Once Upon a Time, which was just renewed for its seventh season to air next TV season. His upcoming feature projects include the animated feature Duck Duck Goose, Jennifer Morrison’s Sun Dogs, the drama Megan Leavey, the fantasy romance Fallen, as well as the drama A Family Man.
Got an update e-mail from Isham’s website saying it was now safe to report he was scoring this series. Can he translate that for me, considering as this article at FMR reported a month ago, Mark said he was via Instagram? Weird.
