Fil Eisler has been hired to score the upcoming comedy To the Bone. The film marks the feature directorial debut of writer Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Fright Night, I Am Number Four) and stars Lily Collins, Keanu Reeves, Carrie Preston, Lili Taylor, Alex Sharp and Liana Liberato. The movie follows a 20-year old woman who is battling her severe anorexia and enters a group recovery home. Noxon also wrote the screenplay inspired by her own experiences with anorexia. Julie Lynn (Albert Nobbs, Mother and Child, Last Days in the Desert) and Bonnie Curtis (Minority Report, A.I. Artificial Intelligence) are producing the project for Mockingbird Pictures, alongside Karina Miller for Sparkhouse Media. Eisler is also scoring the Noxon-created Lifetime series UnReal. To the Bone will premiere in competition next month at the Sundance Film Festival.
Eisler also continues to score Fox’s Empire, which currently airs Wednesday nights. The composer’s upcoming feature projects include the sci-fi drama The Titan starring Sam Worthington & Taylor Schilling and the action comedy CHiPs starring Dax Shepard & Michael Pena, which will be released on March 24, 2017 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
