The full details of the soundtrack album for Mira Nair’s drama Queen of Katwe have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, Roots, 11.22.63, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom). Also included is the original song Back to Life by Alicia Keys, as well as tracks by HAB and Young Cardamom, MC Galaxy, A Pass, Bobi Wine, Michael Kiwanuka & more. The soundtrack will be released on September 23, 2016 by Walt Disney Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Queen of Katwe starring David Oyelowo, Lupita Nyong’o and Madina Nalwanga tells the true story of a young girl selling corn on the streets of rural Uganda who became a Woman Candidate Master after her performance at the World Chess Olympiad.
