Dan Romer has recently composed the score for the upcoming indie drama Katie Says Goodbye. The film is written and directed by Wayne Roberts and stars Olivia Cooke, Mireille Enos, Christopher Abbott, Jim Belushi and Mary Steenburgen. The movie follows a kindhearted 17-year-old in the American Southwest who turns to prostitution to fulfill her dream of a new life in San Francisco. Eric Schultz (James White), Jacob Wasserman,Kimberly Parker and Carlo Sirtori (The Preppie Connection) are producing the project. Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene) and Antonio Campos (Christine) are among the film’s executive producers. Katie Says Goodbye is expected to premiere later this year.
Romer whose previous scoring credits include Beasts of No Nation and Beasts of the Southern Wild has also co-scored the documentary Gleason, which will be released in select theaters this coming Friday.
