Sean Callery has signed on to score the upcoming ABC drama Designated Survivor. The show is created by David Guggenheim (Safe House) and stars Kiefer Sutherland, Kal Penn, Maggie Q, Natascha McElhone, Adan Canto and Italia Ricci. The series follows a low-level U.S. Cabinet member who finds himself unexpectedly appointed President after a terrorist attack kills everyone above him in the Presidential line of succession. Guggenheim and Sutherland are also executive producing the Mark Gordon Company and ABC Studios production with Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Deadpool, The Martian), Aditya Sood, Susan Bymel (Touch) and showrunner Amy B. Harris. Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin, Wicker Park) is directing the first episode. Designated Survivor is expected to premiere later this year on ABC.
Callery also continues to score Showtime’s Homeland, Fox’sBones and Netflix’s Jessica Jones.
