Dickon Hinchliffe has composed the music for the Netflix original movie Special Correspondents. The film is written and directed by Ricky Gervais (The Office, The Invention of Lying) who also stars in the movie alongside Eric Bana,Vera Farmiga, Kelly Macdonald, Kevin Pollak, America Ferrera, Raúl Castillo and Benjamin Bratt. The comedy is based on the 2009 French film of the same title and follows a New York-based radio journalist who decides to fake front line war reports from the comfort of his hideout above a Spanish restaurant in Queens. Gervais is also producing the project with Chris Coen (Shadow Dancer, Funny Games, A Single Shot), Aaron L. Gilbert (The Birth of a Nation, Welcome to Me), Manuel Munz and Larry Sanitsky. Special Correspondents will premiere in the U.S. on April 29, 2016 on Netflix.
Hinchliffe whose previous scoring credits include Winter’s Bone, Locke, Last Chance Harvey and Out of the Furnace has also recently composed the music for Ira Sachs’ indie drama Little Men starring Greg Kinnear. The movie premiered last month at the Sundance Film Festival and was recently picked up by Magnolia Pictures for a domestic release later this year.
