Heitor Pereira is set to compose the music for the upcoming animated feature Angry Birds. The film is directed by Fergal Reilly & Clay Kaytis and features the voices of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, Peter Dinklage, Keegan-Michael Key, Kate McKinnon, Tony Hale, Ike Barinholtz, Hannibal Buress, Cristela Alonzo, Jillian Bell, Danielle Brooks, singer Romeo Santos and YouTube stars Smosh. The movie is based on Rokio Entertainment’s video game series of the same title. No plot details have been announced. Jon Vitti (Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Simpsons) has written the screenplay. John Cohen who previously collaborated with Pereira on Despicable Me is producing the Sony Pictures Imageworks/Animation production. Pereira has previously also scored the studios’ The Smurfs and its sequel. Angry Birds is set to be released on May 20, 2016 by Sony Pictures. (Variety)
