Anton Sanko has been tapped to score the upcoming psychological thriller Border Crossing. The film is directed by Bette Gordon and stars Josh Charles, Julia Stiles, Avan Jogia, Tracie Thoms, Leo Fitzpatrick and John C McGinley. The movie is based on the novel by Pat Barker and follows a psychologist who reopens old wounds and an old case after he rescues a drowning person whom he helped convict twelve years earlier. Stephen Molton and Frank Pugliese have adapted the screenplay. Jamin O’Brien and Daniel L Blanc are producing the project with Radium Cheun. Sanko has previously scored Gordon’s last feature Handsome Harry. Border Crossing is currently in post-production and is expected to be released in 2016.
Sanko also has the horror thriller Visions coming up. The film is directed by Kevin Greutert (Saw VI, Saw 3D: The Final Chapter) and stars Jim Parsons, Isla Fisher and Ellen Barkin. The movie follows a pregnant woman who is moving to the wine country to be with her husband at their vineyard, a move which triggers terrifying visions. Lucas Sussman (Below) has written the screenplay and Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The Purge) is producing the project through his Blumhouse production company. Sanko has previously composed the music for the Blum-produced Oujia and has also scored Greutert’s last feature Jessabelle. No release date has been announced yet for Visions.
