David Carbonara has composed the original music for the Lifetime mini-series The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe. The two-parter is directed by Laurie Collyer (Sherrybaby) and stars Kelli Garner, Susan Sarandon, Emily Watson, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Eva Amurri Martino. The four-hour TV event is based on J. Randy Taraborrelli’s New York Times bestseller of the same title and explores Monroe’s complicated relationships with her mother, foster mother and legal guardian, her struggles with mental illness and her ties with the Kennedys. Jonathan Koch and Steve Michaels (The Kennedys) are executive producing the Asylum Entertainment production with Keri Selig (Passengers) of Intuition Productions and Stephen Kronish (24), who also wrote the screenplay. The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe will premiere on May 30 & 31, 2015 on Lifetime. To learn more about the mini-series, visit the official Lifetime website.
Carbonara also recently finished scoring the final season of AMC’s Mad Men and also has the drama The Congressman directed by Jared Martin & Robert Mrazek and starring Treat Williams coming up.
