Ilan Eshkeri is set to reteam with director James McTeigue (V for Vendetta, The Raven) on the upcoming thriller Survivor. The movie stars Milla Jovovich, Pierce Brosnan, Dylan McDermott, Angela Bassett and Robert Forster. The film follows a State Department employee who is newly posted to the American embassy in London, where she is given responsibility for stopping terrorists from getting into the US. Philip Shelby has written the screenplay. Irwin Winkler (Rocky, Goodfellas, Life as a House) is producing the project with Charles Winkler (Rocky Balboa, De-Lovely, Boaz Davidson (The Legend of Hercules) and Matt O’Toole (Before I Go to Sleep. Eshkeri has previously scored McTeigue’s 2009 feature Ninja Assassin. Survivor is currently in post-production and is expected to be released in 2015.
As previously reported, Eshkeri also has Kevin MacDonald’s thriller Black Sea starring Jude Law coming up. The composer has also recently recorded his score for the family comedy Get Santa. The film is written and directed by Christopher Smith and stars Jim Broadbent, Kit Connor, Rafe Spall, Stephen Graham, Ewen Bremner, Jodie Whittaker, Warwick Davis, Joanna Scanlan and Nonso Anozie. The movie follows a 9-year-old boy and his dad who go on a desperate quest to save Christmas after Santa is arrested in London. Liza Marshall (Life in a Day, Before I Go to Sleep is producing the project for Ridley Scott’s Scott Free London, alongside the BFI, Screen Yorkshire and Altitude Film Entertainment. Smith previously collaborated with composer Christian Henson on his previous feature directorial efforts, including Severance, Black Death and Triangle. Get Santa is set to be released in the UK on.
