Walt Disney Records will release the soundtrack albums for two of this summer’s most anticipated movies. First up is a soundtrack album for the western The Lone Ranger directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. The film’s music is composed by Hans Zimmer. The soundtrack is set to be released on June 25, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Lone Ranger stars Armie Hammer in the film’s title role of the masked crime fighter and Johnny Depp stars as his Native American sidekick from the popular 1950s TV series. Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner and Barry Pepper are co-starring. The movie will be released on July 3, 2012 by Walt Disney Pictures. The label will also release the official soundtrack album for Pixar’s animated feature sequel Monsters University. Composer/songwriter Randy Newman is once again writing the music for the film following his work on Monsters Inc. and five other films for Pixar, including the Toy Story trilogy, A Bug’s Life and Cars. The soundtrack will be released on June 18, 2013 and is available for pre-order on Amazon. Monsters University is directed by Dan Scanion and features the voice talent of Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi Jennifer Tilly, Frank Oz, John Ratzenberger and Kelsey Grammer.
