Antonio Pinto has signed on to score the action thriller Snitch. The film is directed by Ric Roman Waugh (Felon) and stars Dwayne Johnson as a father who is forced to become an informant for the DEA to reduce his falsely accused son’s 10-year jail sentence. Susan Sarandon, Barry Pepper, Benjamin Bratt, Jon Bernthal, Harold Perrineau, Melina Kanakaredes, Michael Kenneth Williams, Rafi Gavron and Nadine Velazquez are co-starring. Waugh adapted the screenplay from an original script by Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road). Johnson is producing the Exclusive Media Group, Participant Media and Imagenation Abu Dhabi production with Dany Garcia and David Fanni. Snitch is currently in post-production and a theatrical release is expected in early 2013.

Pinto whose best known credits include City of God, Lord of War and Love in the Time of Cholera also has the action film Get the Gringo coming out on VOD next week (click here to read our soundtrack announcement). The composer is also scoring the HBO documentary series Witness. The four-episode series is a collaboration between Michael Mann (Heat, The Insider) and director David Frankham and follows a new generation of young combat photographers into conflict zones in Mexico, Brazil, Uganda and Libya.  Pinto’s music has previously been featured in Mann’s 2004 thriller Collateral starring Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. No premiere date has been set yet for Witness.
