Executive producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner announced today that actress/singer Sofia Carson, accompanied by songwriter Diane Warren, will perform the Academy Award-nominated song Applause from the anthology film Tell It like a Woman at the 95th Oscar ceremony, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, on Sunday, March 12, 2023. The song, which is written by Warren, is one of the five nominated songs in the Original Song category and has been released as a digital single in December. As previously announced, Rihanna will perform Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and the other three nominated songs (Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, Naatu Naatu from RRR & This Is a Life from Everything Everywhere All at Once) are also expected to be performed during the telecast.
