Jon Brion has signed on to score the upcoming comedy This is 40. The movie is written and directed by Judd Apatow and stars Jason Segel, Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann who are reprising their roles from the 2007 hit comedy Knocked Up. Megan Fox, Melissa McCarthy and Albert Brooks are co-starring. Apatow is also producing the project with Barry Mendel (The Sixth Sense, Bridesmaids) and Clayton Townsend (The 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up). Brion has previously scored the Apatow-produced comedy Step Brothers in 2008. This is 40 marks the composer’s first collaboration with Apatow as a director. As previously reported, Brion also has the 3D stop-animated comedy thriler ParaNorman diredted by Sam Fell and Chris Butler coming out this summer.
