The Hollywood Bowl has announced this summer’s season schedule, which includes a number of film music concerts. On July 31, David Newman will conduct the Los Angeles Philharmonic for a performance of Mark Knopfler’s entire musical score for Rob Reiner’s The Princess Bride live-to-picture (click here for more details). John Williams will also return to the Bowl on September 3, 4 & 5 for the concert Maestro of the Movies. The composer himself, as well as David Newman will conduct some of Williams’ greatest hits performed by the LA Philharmonic. Visit the Hollywood Bowl’s website for more information about the concerts. On September 12, 13 & 14, the Bowl will host the world premiere of Black Panther in Concert. The LA Philharmonic will perform Ludwig Göransson’s Academy Award-winning score, while Ryan Coogler’s Oscar-nominated film is projected on screen.Click here for more information. On September 17, Justin Freer will conduct the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra for a live to projection concert of Nicholas Hooper’s score for David Yates’ Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (click here for more details).
