Bryce Dessner of the rock band The National has been tapped to score the upcoming comedy Irresistible. The film is written and directed by Jon Stewart and stars Steve Carell, Rose Byrne, Chris Cooper, Topher Grace, Natasha Lyonne, Mackenzie Davis, CJ Wilson and Will Sasso. The movie follows a Democrat political consultant who helps a retired ex-Marine colonel run for mayor in a small Wisconsin town. Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner & Jeremy Kleiner (12 Years a Slave, Moonlight, The Big Short) are producing the Plan B Entertainment production with Stewart and Lila Yacoub (Eighth Grade, Frances Ha). Dessner has previously scored several features, including last year’s The Two Popes and The Kitchen. Stewart’s previous movie and feature directorial debut, Rosewater, featured a score by Howard Shore. Irresistible will be released in theaters on May 29, 2020 by Focus Features.
