Rob Lane (John Adams, Merlin, The Damned United, Atlantis) has recently been recording his score for the upcoming Sky One original series Cobra. The show is written by Ben Richards and stars Robert Carlyle, Victoria Hamilton, Richard Dormer, David Haig, Marsha Thomason and Lucy Cohu. The 6-parter revolves around an unfolding emergency as the COBRA committee, a team comprised of Britain’s leading experts, crisis contingency planners and most senior politicians fights to ensure the protection of the people of Great Britain. Richards is also executive producing the New Pictures production with Charlie Pattinson (The Missing, The White Queen), Jonathan Young and Nicola Larder (Marcella). No premiere date has been announced yet for the series, which will air in the UK on Sky One.
Lane is also expected to return as the composer for Sky’s A Discovery of Witches, which has been renewed for a second and third season.
