James Newton Howard confirmed in a recent interview on Score: The Podcast that he will be returning to score the third installment in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series. The composer also revealed that he will be recording his score for the second part, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (set for a release on November 16, 2018) this coming August. David Yates is attached to direct the the second sequel, while Eddie Redmayne and other cast members are other cast members are expected to reprise their roles from the first two movies. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 3 is set to be released on November 20, 2020 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
The composer’s upcoming projects also include Lasse Hallstrom’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. His recent projects include Francis Lawrence’s Red Sparrow, which is currently playing in theaters.
Great news. Loved the score for the first film. He is one of the most underrated composers working today, IMHO. You rarely hear any repeating cues from JNH.
