Ramin Kousha is scoring the upcoming comedy 1st Born. The film is directed by Ali Atshani and stars Armin Amiri, Taylor Cole, Val Kilmer, William Baldwin, Robert Knepper, Jay Abdo, Denise Richards, Dominique Swain, Tom Berenger and Greg Grunberg. The movie follows a young mixed-nationality couple, Iranian born Ben and American Kate, who are experiencing complications in their first pregnancy, which forces their family to put aside their differences and come together for the sake of the infant. Sam Khoze, Tarek Zohdy and Medhi Alimirzayi have written the screenplay. Khoze is also producing the LA Independent Film and Entertainment production with Edwin Avaness. 1st Born is currently in post-production and is expected to be released later this year.
Kousha whose previous scoring credits include the first Sharknado movie, Abstraction, Five Thirteen and Pizza Man also has the thriller A Day Like a Week coming up. The film is written and directed by Kader Ayd and stars Armand Assante, Richard Sammel, Tom Sizemore and Steven Bauer. No release date has been announced yet.
