STX Entertainment announced today that Grammy Award winner Pitbull (aka Armando Christian Perez) will write and perform an original song for the upcoming animated UglyDolls movie. The singer/rapper/record producer will also lend his voice talent to one of the film’s key characters. The movie based on the David Horvath-created dolls is directed and produced by Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids, From Dusk Till Dawn, Once Upon a Time in Mexico) and follows the UglyDolls as they confront what it means to be different and struggle with their desire to be loved. Gigi Pritzker and OddLot are co-producing and Horvath & Drew Matilsky serve as executive producers on the project. UglyDolls is currently set to be released on May 10, 2019 by STX Entertainment.
