Daniel Hart has been tapped to score the upcoming Fox drama The Exorcist. The show is created by Jeremy Slater (Fantastic Four, The Lazarus Effect) and stars Alfonso Herrera, Ben Daniels, Geena Davis, Brianne Howey, Hannah Kasulka and Kurt Egyiawa. The series is based on William Peter Blatty’s novel of the same title, which inspired William Friedkin’s Academy Award-winning 1973 feature and follows two very different priests tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession. Slater is also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television and Morgan Creek production with Rolin Jones, James & David Robinson (The Good Shepherd, Dream House, Exorcist: The Beginning), Barbara Wall and Roy Lee (The Lego Movie, The Strangers), as well as Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Gambler) who also directed the pilot episode.
