It was announced today that Grammy Award-nominated rapper/songwriter Nas is producing the soundtrack for the upcoming indie drama The Land. The film is written and directed by Steven Caple Jr. and stars Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Moises Arias, Rafi Gavron, Ezri Walker, Erykah Badu and Michael K. Williams. The movie follows four teenage boys from Cleveland, Ohio, pursuing a dream life of professional skateboarding and who get caught in the web of the local queenpin. Lizzie Friedman Greg Little & Karen Lauder (The Stanford Prison Experiment, Ride), Tyler Davidson (Take Shelter, The Kings of Summer), Blake Pickens and Stephen Love are producing the project. Nas also serves as one of the film’s executive producers. Jongnic Bontemps is composing the film’s original score. The Land is set to premiere next month at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.
