This week, Blake Neely has recorded his score for the pilot of the new CBS drama Supergirl. The show based on the DC Comics property centers on Kara Zor-El ,Superman’s cousin, who escaped from on the planet Krypton and was taken in by a foster family on Earth who taught her to be careful with her extraordinary powers. Melissa Benoist stars in the title role, alongside Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, David Harewood as Hank Henshaw and Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers. Supergirl Helen Slater and former Superman Dean Cain are guest starring in the pilot. Greg Berlanti (Green Lantern, Everwood, Brothers & Sisters), Ali Adler (The New Normal, Andrew Kreisberg (Arrow) and Sarah Schechter (Pan, The Mysteries of Laura) are producing the Warner Bros. Television production. Neely is also scoring the DC Comics shows Arrow, which is currently in its third season, as well as The Flash, which ends its first season run in the coming weeks. Supergirl is set to premiere next TV season on CBS.
