Clinton Shorter has been hired to score the upcoming Syfy event series The Expanse. The show is created by Academy Award-winning writers Mark Fergus & Hawk Ostby (Children of Men, Iron Man) based on the New York Times bestselling series of novels of the same title and stars Thomas Jane, Steven Strait, Shohreh Aghdashlo, Florence Faivre, Jay Hernandez, Cas Anvar, Dominique Tipper, Wes Chatham and Paulo Costanzo. The series is set two hundred years in the future, after mankind has colonized the solar system and follows a hardened detective and a rogue ship’s captain who come together for what starts as the case of a missing woman and evolves into a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history. Fergus & Ostby are also executive producing the Alcon Television Group production with Broderick Johnson & Andrew Kosove (Prisoners, The Book of Eli, The Blind Side), Sharon Hall, Naren Shankar (CSI, Almost Human), Sean Daniel (The Mummy, the Scorpion King) and Jason Brown. Shorter’s previous scoring credits include such features as District 9, Contraband, 2 Guns and Pompeii and TV shows including Intelligence and House of Lies.
