Isobel Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Emma, Wicked Little Letters, The Phantom of the Open, Vita & Virginia, Munich: The Edge of War, The Miniature Wife, Three Women, Roar) has recently scored the upcoming Australian/British drama Prima Facie. The film is directed by Susanna White (Nanny McPhee Returns, Our Kind of Traitor) and stars Cynthia Erivo, Daniel Ings, Noma Dumezweni, Elizabeth Dulau, Toheeb Jimoh, Harry Treadaway, Khalid Abdalla, Simon Russell-Beale, Elliot Levey and Sarah Junillon. The movie revolves around an ambitious barrister who primarily defends those accused of sex crimes and unexpectedly becomes the accuser in a sexual assault case. Suzie Miller wrote the screenplay based on her own play of the same title. Kevin Loader (The Death of Stalin, The Lady in the Van) and Greer Simpkin & David Jowsey (Kangaroo, The Deb) are producing the project. Prima Facie is premiering today at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival.
Waller-Bridge’s other recent projects include Apple TV’s Last Seen, which just premiered last week.
