Mondo Boys (She Dies Tomorrow, Fatman, The Jinx, Phoenix Forgotten, The Girlfriend Experience, Borderland, Red Right Hand, Silk Road) have composed the original score for the upcoming survival slasher River. The film is written and directed by Joshua Giuliano and stars Jessica Rothe, Jane Levy, Dane DiLiegro and Max Mattern. The movie follows three embittered siblings who reunite in their hometown after the death of their father to scatter his ashes at his favorite spot on a remote river, but the trip devolves into a waking nightmare when they realize they’re being stalked by a masked killer who has emerged from the woods. Steven Schneider (Insidious, Late Night with the Devil) is producing the project for Spooky Pictures, alongside Nick Antosca & Alex Hedlund (Cape Fear, Candy) for Eat the Cat. River will premiere next month at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival and will be released in theaters by the Independent Film Company before making its streaming debut on Shudder.
The composers’ other recent feature projects include Joseph Marconi’s sports drama Baby Love, which premiered at this year’s Cinequest & Phoenix Film Festivals and is currently awaiting a release date.
