Jonathan Goldsmith (Away from Her, Take This Waltz, Burn Your Maps, Casino Jack, Dreamland, Stories We Tell) has composed the original music for the upcoming psychological thriller Act One. The film is written and directed by Sophia Takal (Black Christmas, Always Shine) and stars Ella Beatty, Ari Graynor, Nate Mann, Elizabeth Reaser, Robert Sean Leonard, Sinclair Daniel and Tavi Gevinson. The movie follows a lonely aspiring teen actress who finds herself drawn to an acting teacher who pulls her into a web of desire and control, blurring the lines of seduction and obsession. Takal is also producing the project with Allison Rose Carter & Jon Read (I Love Boosters, The Adults), Julie Christeas (Black Bear, Wildlike), Stephanie Roush (Union County) and Julie Waters (Oh, Hi!). Act One will premiere this week at the 2026 Tribeca Film Festival.
