Composer Ariel Marx (Dying for Sex, Shiva Baby, Candy, The Last Frontier, Murdaugh: Death in the Family, A Small Light, A Friend of the Family, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, The Tale is reteaming with director Zachary Wigon (The Heart Machine) on the upcoming period psychological horror thriller Victorian Psycho. The film is based on the bestselling book of the same title by Virginia Feito and stars Maika Monroe, Jason Isaacs, Ruth Wilson and Thomasin McKenzie. The movie is set in 1858 and story centers on a governess who hides her psychopathic tendencies while arriving to work at a remote gothic manor, but as she takes care of her charges, staff members begin to inexplicably disappear. Dan Kagan (Longlegs, Boy Kills World) is producing the project with Sébastien Raybaud (Greenland, Fuze) of Anton and Wigon, in association with Anonymous Content. Marx has previously scored Wigon’s last feature, Sanctuary. Victorian Psycho will premiere next month at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and will be released in U.S. theaters this fall by Bleecker Street.
