Emil Sana (Huutamisen taito, Rajalla) has released a soundtrack album for the Kazakh coming-of-age drama Becoming. The album features the composer’s original score from the film and is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. Also listen to Sana’s final track below. Becoming is written and directed by Zhannat Alshanova and stars Tamiris Zhangazinova, Valentin Novopolskij, Medina Sagindykova and Assel Kaliyeva. The movie follows a 17-year-old teenager who escapes her chaotic home by joining an open-water swimming team, but when her place is threatened, she risks everything to keep the fragile balance she’s found. The drama premiered at last year’s Locarno Film Festival and screened at numerous other film festivals over the last couple of months. No word yet on a domestic release.
