Michael Giacchino (UpLost, Jurassic World, The IncrediblesThe Batman, Ratatouille, Rogue One: A Star Wars StoryStar Trek) is returning to score Marvel Studios’ upcoming superhero movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Short Term 12) and stars Tom Holland. Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo. The sequel takes place four years after the events of No Way Home and follows Peter who is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves, when a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced. Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, The Lego Batman Movie) wrote screenplay. Kevin Feige (Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther), Amy Pascal (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Little Women),  Avi Arad (Iron Man, X-Men) and Rachel O’Connor (Challengers, Project Hail Mary) are producing the project. Giacchino has previously scored the first three installments in MCU’s Spider-Man series (directed by Jon Watts) and also composed the music for several other Marvel productions. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theaters nationwide on July 31, 2026 by Sony Pictures.

Also coming up for Giacchino is Brad Bird’s Ray Gunn, which is expected to premiere this year on Netflix, as well as the animated feature High on the Clouds, which will be coming out in 2027.
