John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2,The Jungle Book, Horizon: An American Saga, The Emperor’s New Groove, Hocus Pocus) is currently recording his score for the upcoming romantic comedy You, Me & Tuscany. The film is directed by Kat Coiro (A Case of You, Life Happens) and stars Halle Bailey, Regé-Jean Page, Isabella Ferrari, Lorenzo de Moor, Aziza Scott, Marco Calvani, Lorenzo de Moor and Nia Vardalos. The movie follows a young woman who has abandoned her dreams of becoming a chef, when she meets a handsome Italian who happens to have a villa sitting empty in Tuscany and decides to jet off for Italy and crash at the place by pretending to be the owner’s son’s fiancée. Ryan Engle (Rampage, Non-Stop) wrote the screenplay. based on an original idea by himself and Kristin Engle. Will Packer (Girls Trip, Ride Along) and Johanna Byer (Point Blank) are producing the project. Debney has previously scored Coiro’s last feature, Marry Me. You, Me & Tuscany is set to be released in theaters nationwide on April 10, 206 by Universal Pictures.
Debney’s other recent projects include Derek Drymon’s The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants, which is opening in theaters this weekend, as well as Matt Shankman’s The Man with the Bag, which is expected to premiere in late 2026 on Prime Video.
