Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1973 thriller The Day of the Jackal directed by Fred Zinnemann and starring Edward Fox, Michael Lonsdale, Derek Jacobi, Michel Auclair, Terence Alexander,Alan Badel, Donald Sinden, Tony Britton, Maurice Denham, Cyril Cusack and Delphine Seyrig. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Georges Delerue (Platoon, Steel Magnolias, Twins, The Day of the Dolphin, Beaches, A Little Romance, Joe Versus the Volcano). The CD, which is being released as part of the Universal Pictures Film Music Classics Collection, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the release. The Day of the Jackal is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.
