Augustus Muller & Jae Matthews of the electronic music group Boy Harsher are set to score their upcoming feature directorial debut The Lonely Woman. The film written and directed by the duo stars Chloë Sevigny, Jake Weary and features music performances by FKA Twigs, Sturgill Simpson and Will Oldham. The horror thriller is set in rural New England and follows a woman marked by her first love’s death in a mountain tunnel who finds herself confronting a seductive and terrifying presence buried beneath the town. Alex Hughes (How to Blow Up a Pipeline, The Carpenter’s Son) is producing the project for Spacemaker, alongside Craig Butta (Pavements, The Sweet East) for Base 12 and Bruno Vernaschi-Berman for Good Bath. Muller & Matthews have previously scored their 2022 short The Runner and Muller has made his feature scoring debut on Jacqueline Castel’s My Animal. The Lonely Woman just finished principal photography. No word yet on a premiere date. (Deadline)
