Warner Music France has released a soundtrack album for the animated feature A Magnificent Life (Marcel et Monsieur Pagnol). The album features the film’s original music written by Italian jazz pianist, singer and composer Stefano Bollani (Il pataffio). The soundtrack is now available to stream on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out the track list. Also listen to the first two tracks after the jump. A Magnificent Life is written and directed by Sylvain Chomet and explores the life of playwright, novelist and filmmaker Marcel Pagnol (1895-1974). The movie follows Pagnol at age 60 as his memory is failing him and is deeply affected by the disappointing results of his last two plays, when Little Marcel – the young boy he used to be – appears to him. The animated drama, which premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, just opened in French theaters last week and has been picked up by Sony Pictures Classics for a domestic release in the coming months.
