LuminArt Music Production has released a soundtrack album for the Hungarian historical epic 1242: Gateway to the West. The album features the film’s original music composed by Arthur Valentin Grósz (The Shepherd, Silent Zone, Madeleine, New Chance) and performed by the Budapest Art Orchestra. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. Also listen to the composer’s main title track below. 1242: Gateway to the West is directed by Péter Soós and stars Bold Choimbol, Jeremy Newmark Jones, Ray Stevenson, Neil Stuke, Eric Roberts, Michael Ironside, David Schofield, Tserenbold Tsegmid and Barslkhagva Barsa. The movie follows a profoundly spiritual man of Hungarian Castle Esztergom who must confront and halt the Great Mongolian Army led by Ghengis Khan’s grandson Batu Khan from invading Europe in 1242. The drama is premiering in Hungary today. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
