Jim Jarmusch has collaborated with singer/songwriter Anika (aka Annika Henderson) to compose the music the original music for the director’s upcoming comedy drama Father Mother Sister Brother. The film is written and directed by Jarmusch and stars Tom Waits, Adam Driver, Mayim Bialik, Charlotte Rampling, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Greene, Vicky Krieps, Indya Moore, Luka Sabbat and Françoise Lebrun. The movie tells three different stories (set in the north-east U.S., Dublin, Ireland, and Paris, France) and explores the relationships between adult children, their somewhat distant parent (or parents) and each other. CG Cinema’s Charles Gillibert (Mustang, On the Road) is producing the project wih badjetlag’s Joshua Astrachan (Short Term 12, Friends with Kids), Carter Logan (who previously co-scored Jarmusch’s last couple of features, including Paterson & The Dead Don’t Die, as part of the director’s band SQÜRL) and Atilla Salih Yücer. Father Mother Sister Brother will premiere this Sunday at the Venice Film Festival and will be released in U.S. theaters on December 24 by MUBI.
