Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, The Martian, Gladiator II, Mulan, Man on Fire, Kingdom of Heaven) has teamed up with Ryder McNair (Yosemite, Andy Kaufman Is Me, Uncle Kent) to compose the music for the upcoming action thriller Normal. The film is directed by Ben Wheatley (High-Rise, Free Fire) and stars Bob Odenkirk, Lena Headey, Henry Winkler, Ryan Allen, Billy MacLellan, Brendan Fletcher, Jess McLeod, Reena Jolly, Peter Shinkoda, Derek Barnes and David Lawrence Brown. The movie follows a provisional sheriff who gets pitted against his constituents when the exposure of a small town’s sordid secret sparks a rip-roaring firefight.. Derek Kolstad (John Wick, Nobody) wrote the screenplay based on a story by himself and Odenkirk. They are both also producing the project with Marc Provissiero (No Hard Feelings, PEN15). Gregson-Williams has previosuly scored Wheatley’s last feature Meg 2: The Trench. McNair provided additional music to the title as part of Gregson-Williams’s team. Normal will premiere next month at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.
Gregson-Williams also continues to score HBO’s The Gilded Age (with his brother Rupert), which just finished its third season run this past Sunday and will return for a fourth season.
