Republic Records & Verve Label Group have announced the details of the soundtrack album for the film adaptation of the stage musical Wicked. The album features the songs from the film written by Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz (The Prince of Egypt, Pocahontas, Pippin) and performed by cast members Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, Ariana Grande as Glinda, Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum as the legendary Wizard of Oz, including tracks such as Defying Gravity, Popular and Dancing Through Life. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically (both on CD and vinyl in standard and picture disc editions) on November 22.Visit Amazon to order the vinyl edition and digital version and visit the label’s official website to pre-order the other physical versions. Wicked is directed by Jon M. Chu and also stars Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, Ethan Slater, Bronwyn James and Keala Settle. The fantasy adventure, which tells the untold story of the witches of Oz, will be released in theaters nationwide on November 22, 2024 by Universal Pictures and the second part is scheduled to be released on November 21, 2025.
