Earth Libraries will release a digital version of the soundtrack album for the documentary Butterfly in the Sky. The album features the film’s original music composed by The Octopus Project (Kumiko, The Treasure Hunter, Sasquatch Sunset, Damsel). The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 28. A vinyl edition has previously been announced (for this year’s Record Store Day) and is now available to order on Amazon. Listen to the band’s Reading Rainbow Theme Song (feat. Butterfly in the Sky is directed by Bradford Thomason & Brett Whitcomb and tells the story of the beloved PBS children’s series Reading Rainbow, its host LeVar Burton, and the challenges its creators faced in cultivating a love of reading through television. The documentary, which first premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival, was released in select theaters this past March and is now available to purchase on VOD and to stream on Netflix.
