Jay McCarrol (BlackBerry, The Kid Detective, Operation Avalanche, The Dirties) has recently scored the upcoming slasher comedy Hell of a Summer. The film marks the feature directorial debut of actors Finn Wolfhard & Billy Bryk and stars Fred Hechinger, Abby Quinn, Wolfhard & Bryk themselves, Pardis Saremi, Rosebud Baker, Adam Pally, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai and Krista Nazaire. The movie follows two horny teenagers looking to score with their fellow counsellors of a summer camp in a fight to survive the night after a slasher begins to wreak havoc the weekend before the campers are due to arrive. Wolfhard & Byrk also wrote the screenplay and are producing the producing the project with Hechinger, Michael Costigan (Out of the Furnace, A Bigger Splash), Jay Van Hoy (The Witch, American Honey), Jason Bateman (Ozark, Bad Words), Maren Olson (Short Term 12) and Trevor Groth. Hell of a Summer is premiering tonight at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.
