Isabella Summers (aka Isa Machine of Florence + the Machine) (Little Fires Everywhere, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, The Offer, Sex/Life, Call Jane) has recently been scoring the upcoming horror comedy Lisa Frankenstein. The film is directed by Zelda Williams and stars Kathryn Newton, Cole Sprouse, Carla Gugino, Joe Chrest, Liza Soberano and Henry Eikenberry. The movie is set in 1989 and revolves around an unpopular high schooler who accidentally re-animates a handsome Victorian corpse during a lightning storm and starts to rebuild him into the man of her dreams. Diablo Cody (Juno, Young Adult) wrote the screenplay and is also producing the project with Mason Novick (Bad Words, Tully) for MXN Entertainment. Lisa Frankenstein will be distributed by Focus Features. No release date has been announced yet.
Summers’ other upcoming projects include the animated feature Hitpig, as well as the third and final season of Apple TV+’s Physical, which is set to premiere on August 3. She has also composed the score for Aitch Alberto’s coming-of-age dramedy Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, which premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival and will be released in U.S. theaters on September 8 by Blue Fox Entertainment.
