Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, Leave the World Behind, Feud: Bette and Joan, American Horror Story, American Crime Story, The Beauty, Monster: The Ed Gein Story, Gaslit, His & Hers) has been tapped to score the second season of the Apple TV original series Dark Matter. The show is created by Blake Crouch (Wayward Pines, Good Behavior) based on his bestselling novel of the same title and stars Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Oakes Fegley, Dayo Okeniyi and Amanda Brugel. The new season of the sci-fi thriller follows the Dessens as they settle into a quiet life in a world that finally seems safe until the unimaginable forces them to run once again. Crouch, Edgerton & Connelly are also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Matt Tolmach (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Venom), Richard Lederer, as well as Jacquelyn Ben-Zekry who co-wrote every episode of season two with Crouch. Jason Hill has previously composed the score for 2024’s first season. Season 2 of Dark Matter will premiere on August 28, 2026 on Apple TV.
Quayle also continues co-score ABC’s 9-11 and 9-1-1: Nashville, which both have recently been picked up for new seasons.
