Sony Pictures announced today that record producer/songwriter (and son of Beatles producer George Martin) will serve as the executive music producer on The Beatles – A Four Film Cinematic Event. The four films are directed by Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall) and will star Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, as well as Saoirse Ronan, James Norton, Mia McKenna-Bruce, Anna Sawai, Aimee Lou Wood, Harry Lloyd, Lucy Boynton, Farhan Akhtar, Morfydd Clark and Harry Lawtey. The movies – one from each band member’s point-of-view – will intersect to tell the story of the legendary group. No word yet on whether the biographical drama will feature an original score. Mendes is also producing the Neal Street production Pippa Harris (1917, Hamnet), Julie Pastor (The Franchise) and Alexandra Derbyshire (Wonka). The Beatles – A Four Film Cinematic Event is scheduled to be released in theaters nationwide on April 7, 2028 by Sony Pictures.
