Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into/Across the Spider-Verse, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Enola Holmes, Steve Jobs, The Bad Guys, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Materialists, Birds of Pre ) is currently scoring the upcoming feature adaptation of Mattel’s Masters of the Universe. The film is directed by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings, Bumblebee) and stars Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Jared Leto, Idris Elba, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Charlotte Riley, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, as well as Kristen Wiig as the voice of “Roboto.” The movie follows Prince Adam as he moves back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered and – to save his family and his world – must join forces with his closest allies and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe. Chris Butler (ParaNorman, Missing Link) wrote the screenplay with Aaron Nee & Adam Nee (The Lost City, Band of Robbers) and Dave Callaham (Mortal Kombat, The Expendables). Todd Black & Jason Blumenthal (The Equalizer, The Pursuit of Happyness), Robbie Brenner (Barbie, Dallas Buyers Club), Steve Tisch (Forrest Gump, Risky Business) and DeVon Franklin (Miracles from Heaven, Flamin’ Hot) are producing the project. Masters of the Universe will be released in theaters nationwide on June 5, 2026 by Amazon MGM Studios.
