Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) (Queen & Slim, Passing,We Are Who We Are, Palo Alto, Master Gardener, Mainstream, The Listeners) has been tapped to score the upcoming comedy drama The Invite. The film is directed by Olivia Wilde (Booksmart, Don’t Worry Darling) and stars Seth Rogen, Wilde herself, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton. The movie follows a couple whose upstairs neighbors are about to arrive for dinner, and everything that can go wrong goes worse. Rashida Jones & Will McCormack (Celeste and Jesse Forever) wrote the screenplay. David Permut (Hacksaw Ridge, Face/Off), Ben Browning (Promising Young Woman, Late Night) and Megan Ellison (Her, Zero Dark Thirty) are producing the project. The Invite will premiere in January at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.
